The answer depends on the type of prostate surgery. In most prostatitis treatments for BPH, only a portion of the prostate gland is removed, or in some cases, the prostate gland is heated internally (thermal therapy) without actually removing any tissue. In these instances, it is likely that over time, prostate tissue will re-grow, and there may be a need for further treatment in some men. When the entire prostate gland is removed (as in a "radical prostatectomy" for curative treatment of prostate cancer) there is no tissue left behind, and the chance for prostate re-growth is much less.
Well... the most common cause of incontinence in men is prostate surgery. However, most men who have prostate surgery are not incontinent afterward. About 1% of men who are treated surgically for BPH have incontinence. A much higher percentage of men who have prostate surgery for prostate cancer may have some degree of involuntary leakage afterward. Some studies report the condition in as much as 50% of men undergoing radical prostate removal. The rate of severe incontinence is less than 10% in most reported series.
The equipment with TURP surgery is improving all the time. Although this procedure is largely safe and effective, complications can occasionally occur (as with any operation). The main problem is bleeding, either at the time of the surgery or afterwards. In the longer term, incontinence after a TURP surgery is quite rare, but does affect a tiny proportion of men, as does scarring (stricture) of the urethra, which may need further prostate surgery to remedy.
TURP surgery shouldn't affect your sex drive, erection or sensation at orgasm, but it will mean that you have a dry orgasm with no ejaculate. This doesn't usually bother patients as long as they know about it before they have the prostate surgery. If it was OK before the surgery operation, most men report that their sex life after a TURP surgery is quite satisfactory. In addition, you should need to get up less often during the night to urinate, and should have an improved urinary stream.
Because the prostate continues to grow after a TURP, a proportion of men will need a second TURP surgery operation eventually. One man in ten undergoing TURP surgery will need a second surgery operation sometime during the following 5 years.
Ask him who will actually carry out the surgery operation, how many times that person has performed the same type of surgery, and what his results are. You are looking for an experienced prostate surgeon (one who has carried out the prostate surgery operation at least 100 times previously) who has a high rate of success and a low rate of complications. Also ask how long you'll have to wait for your prostate surgery operation.
Prostatitis can usually be treated with prostate medicine. For chronic prostatitis, our prostate injection treatment can cure you. Most of the time, surgery is not needed.
We are against any form of prostate surgery because prostate surgery always cause more long term problems for the patients. Very few are satisfied with the result of prostate surgery, more often you risk yourself with erectile dysfunction, urination problems. We recommend natural prostate treatments that are not invasive, natural, safe and have no side effect. Most of the time, you will be disappointed with the result of prostate surgery.
NO, prostate surgery is that it basically cut some tissue out of the prostate glands, however, it cannot solve your prostate calcification and infection problem, you still have these problems after prostate surgery, the level of pain and symptoms in your prostate would be the same.
If you prostate doctor suggest prostate surgery for prostatitis, it is an irresponsible suggestion, if you take that suggestion, you will feel sorry for the rest of your life. Prostatitis cannot be resolved by prostate surgery because pain and symptoms are still there after a piece of prostate tissue is removed. The correct way to solve your prostatitis is to search for an non-invasive, non-surgical treatment protocol that could send medicine into infected prostate area.
NO, prostate surgery aims at removing a part of prostate tissue to alleviate urinary symptoms, or for cancer treatment. Extreme caution must be taken when considering prostate surgery.
