Enlarged Prostate or Benign enlargement of the prostate (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia or "BPH") is the most common tumor in men, and usually begins in younger men with microscopic nodules growing within the prostate gland or by prostatitis. According to mainstream views that the prostate begins to enlarge through a process of cell multiplication when men are in their 40's, and increases with aging. We have a different view on this. According to one study, as many as 80% of men have at least some symptoms of BPH. The causes of this condition are not fully known but prostatitis is a cause. Most believe the interplay between testosterone and estrogen (all men make some) plays a role. Genetics may play a role in enlarged prostate, as some studies suggest that the problem is more common in Caucasians than Asians, for example. This might additionally complicate the prostatitis treatment and affect other organs in severe cases of enlarged prostate cases.
Many cases found that Quercetin and Saw palmetto have very limited result with enlarged prostate, although these herbs are popular among patients with prostate enlargement.
